Serengeti, Tarangire & Ngorongro Crater Safari Tour

Tanzania

Explore the vast Tarangire National Park – famous for its spectacular large animal population, as well as the largest concentration of Elephants in the country.
Then visit the famous Serengeti National Park – home to the world’s largest movement of animals, often called the “Great Migration.” More than 1.7 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebra, and 200,000 antelope make their way from the Ndutu region of the southern Serengeti northward through the whole length of the “endless plains” to Kenya.
End the trip by traveling into the world’s largest collapsed volcano in the world and one of Africa’s seven natural wonders – the Ngorongoro Crater reserve – with over 25,000 large animals including the endangered black rhinoceros, buffalo, zebras and hippopotamus. This trip is setup perfectly to go after your Kilimanjaro trek.

Itinerary

You’ll be picked up from the hotel at 6:00am and transfer to the Tarangire National Park via Arusha city, the drive cover approximately 3.5-4 hours to the park gate. You will spend a 7 hours game drive within the park including lunch. Tarangire National Park is famous for its spectacular large animal population, as well as the largest concentration of Elephants in the country and a huge number of scattered baobab trees. Also there are other large number of mammals like, giraffe, zebras, monkeys, antelopes, lions and
cheetah. At 05:00Pm you will leave the park to the camp site for your dinner and over night.

Day 2
DAY 2: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into to the heart of wild Africa- the Serengeti National Park with endless plains , rolling into into the distance as far as the eyes can see. We head to the central park area, known as Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts lot of wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti species. During the evening you will drive to the camp area for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
DAY 3: North Serengeti National Park

After breakfast we will start our game viewing. Serengeti is huge ( around 12,000 sq mi) and we will see only a small part of it during our game drive in the North Serengeti since it is known as the heart of Serengeti National Park and having a huge diversity of animals, especially cats (Lions , Leopard and Cheetah).
After hours of game drive we will exit a park heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight. We suggest having warm clothes and light cloves because it can get quite chilly and windy in the Ngorongoro highlands where we will camp.

Day 4
DAY 4: Ngorongoro crater

Today you will be picked up from your campsite after having early breakfast, we plan to start our game drive early in order to be able to spend 6 hours in the park before transfer back to Airport for departure.
The Ngorongoro crater is one of the few areas in Tanzania where you can find such a breathtaking blend of scenery and wildlife coupled with a fascinating historical and cultural element. Is it safe?

You will be travelling with experienced and qualified guides, and this safari is very safe. However, it is important to abide by the rules set by the National Park and always follow the advice of your guides.

How old do I need to be?

The safari is family-friendly, with a minimum age of 6.

What's the weather like?

The average temperature is 77F in the day and 60F in the morning/evenings. We recommend bringing a fleece and waterproof jacket, although you’ll spend most of the safari within the 4x4s.

How much should you I tip the guide?

It is customary in Tanzania to tip guides and cooks. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. A good rule of thumb is around 20USD per day for the driver guide and about 10 USD per day for the cook per group per sharing.

Do you cater for most dietary requirements?

Yes, just let us know your dietary requirements and a member of our team will make sure your requirements are met.

Can you arrange a different date, that is not available on your website?

Absolutely – just let us know which dates you want to go, and a member of our team will make all the arrangements for you.

I am hiking up Kilimanjaro before my safari. How will this work?

If you are doing the Machame route with PointHi, then it is likely that your safari will start on day 8 of your Kilimanjaro itinerary. This works perfectly, as you will be back in your hotel in Moshi, in the evening of day 7 of your trek.
